ITO Focus International started the network in 1994 and currently have more than 50 businesses operating in Southern Africa. ITO Focus Europe was established in September 2007 when we opened our office in Amsterdam. The first few business units in the Netherlands and Germany have come on board. ITO Focus will launch in June in Australia, with Dubai and Miami launching its activities during the second half of 2008.
In accordance with our vision "We will thrive as a successful global company that is deeply passionate about growing people and organisations." we are looking at growing our network of professional business entrepreneurs to several continents in the world.
Jumping ship from the security of having a fixed salary, a pension, medical aid and all those handcuffs that keep people from reaching their full potential, are some of the "hurdles" that prospective entrepreneurs must put behind them in their quest for becoming their own boss. Once you have made that step, you realize that security comes from within, where YOU determine your future…NOBODY else!
Maybe some hard facts first. What do we NOT offer you at ITO?
- An easy ride. It is tough no matter how you look at it. Running your own business requires you to move beyond your comfort zone and deal with the wide spectrum of many things you haven't even heard of, let alone have expertise in it.
- Ready made products off the shelf. Products come and go. Today they are in fashion….tomorrow it is a museum piece. If you are looking to commit to ITO Focus because of product, think again. To place your security in the product a company offers is almost like trying to find employment again…..trying to find security in a false illusion.
- If you cannot sell, you are D-E-A-D! Full stop!
- A short term money making scheme. It takes time to build your business….three to five years to become established….and then the real challenge begins…
- Employment. Running your own business means you are responsible for everything in your business. If you do not make money…you don't get paid.
- Certainty. Life in ITO is very uncertain and successful business units thrive on the potential and possibility this offers. Change and uncertainty is the only constant factor we can offer.
Are you still there? Great! Then you are probably wondering what this elusive character (what we call ITOers) look like. The honest answer…..We still haven't managed to "box" the ideal ITOer. After 14 years of working with entrepreneurs, would-be entrepreneurs, people who hang onto the "self employment myth" and very successful ITOers, I can only come to the conclusion that there is no "right" answer here.
However, these unique individuals share few commonalities: They are serious about business, enjoy freedom, act with integrity, make mistakes and fail often, risk big, never ever accept NO or give up. They are passionate about people and take responsibility. They form long-term relationships with their clients and other ITOers.
They live life to the full…..
