The network was launched by an intrepid pair of individuals in the watershed year of 1994 when the forces of change unleashed a new era in South Africa. It has exploited these energies to build diversity and capacity and has celebrated the possibilities which have accompanied these auspicious times.
Bound by strong values and a desire to balance individual freedom with excellence and integrity , ITO has grown into a far flung alliance of professionals. We now operate locally as well as internationally.

ITO balances these three elements within the context of a sustainable world. Development that is sustainable is one of the key challenges facing the world today. Every organisation is confronted by the need to contribute sustainably. People must use less natural resources - electricity, water and land - and only people can make a difference here. By implication organizations MUST change - every process - Training, Performance management, Selection, talent retention - everything, must change.
