Skills Training for 1000 Government Employees: UPDATE
The official launch of the second phase of the Financial Management Training for Non-Financial Managers took place on the 17th April on a warm day in picturesque Mafikeng. In a brand new, state of the art conference building the launch was held amongst the various MEC's, heads of departments and the general public. There was over a thousand people in attendance, and whilst drinking from a bottle with our ITO Focus logo on I observed a heady buzz of excitement in the room.
The auspicious event was initiated by the symbolic lighting of a candle, and then continued so as to introduce the objectives and reasoning behind the project with wonderful traditional entertainment interspersed throughout. The MEC of Finance for the North West, Maureen Modiselle, gave a particularly rousing speech which elicited a very positive response. And so after all were heard, we were then greeted by a wonderful spread, and it seems that the project will be as satisfying as it was.
